During 12 sessions we will focus on six main points: Networking skills, Writing e-mails in preparation for meetings, Communicating accurately, Preparing a presentation, Making requests, Offers and recommendations, Reporting factual information. We discuss topics of interest to the group, often drawing from articles from "Spotlight" magazine and other sources.
Looking for a fun course to refresh your English? Whether it’s for your holiday, your job, or just to keep your brain linguistically fit, come and join us. We’ll be using Spotlight magazine, along with other reading materials (e.g. short stories, newspaper articles). Although the emphasis is mostly on fluency, grammar deficiencies will be addressed as needed. All this in a relaxed and positive learning environment!
Our main reading material is Spotlight. This current affairs magazine provides a rich blend of topics which will enable you to practise and hone your speaking skills in everyday life. You’ll expand and enrich your vocabulary and, when necessary, smooth out those recurring grammatical issues. And all this in a fun and informal classroom environment.

Nach vorbereitendem Lesen zu Hause werden in den Kursstunden Inhalte, Wissenswertes zum Werk, sowie sprachliche und stilistische Besonderheiten entdeckt.

Flash fiction is brilliant not only for what it includes in print but also for what it leaves to our imaginations! We will discuss one of the 20th-century stories from the "22 kurze Kurzgeschichten" collection "DTV zweisprachig". Our first story will be J. Galsworthy's "The Japanese Quince" (please read it before our first Zoom meeting). Noch elf Tage bis Heiligabend! Wir stimmen uns gemeinsam auf das Fest mit einem der größten Weihnachtsklassiker aller Zeiten ein: Dickens "A Christmas Carol". Nach einer Einführung in das Werk, liest die Dozentin Auszüge in der englischen Originalfassung (und erklärt durchaus hier und da etwas auf Deutsch, falls nötig). Anschließend klingt die kleine Adventsstunde mit Fragen, Diskussion, heißen Getränken und Plätzchen aus.
